Science Project: Meals on Wheels

The project we did envolved choosing 2 diets out of 3 for a company which delivered food to busy people, the company gave us 3 menus to choose from and 2 had to be chosen as a:
a) Short term diet
b) Long term diet
The goal was to make us learn more about nutrients and which ones are bad/good but moreover the main point of the experiment was to learn what would happen to someones body if a certain type of nutrient was abundant in excess or non-present, we based our decisions on the research we did about famous diets and also with research about effects of nutrients.Through our research we found many good diets and nutrients but really didnt find any bad nutrients, all nutrients are good and needed by the body IF eaten in responsible amounts. For example, diets usually cut back on sugar, but sugar is still needed as the busy people that hire the company will need energy to function correctly.
My team was led by Karina and she assigned each of the team members with a task, she made me the PowerPoint creator, but before I could do anything I needed the information required to make the PowerPoint. I think my team worked at a fair pace, we had one of our team members going out so that slowed us down a bit but I think overall we did a good job. During this project learned the side effects of not having too much protein, or eating too much cabbage soup, it was really interesting and I also learned some famous diets. There really weren't many challenges for me other than making sure the presentation was made nicely. I wanted to make a simple presentation without too much writing which would be used to describe some main points with short sentences and not just read everything that was typed in the presentation. I enjoyed this project and I look forward to having more projects and less classwork.
